St Milburga Church on Radio 4!

Congratulations to St Milburga Church in Stoke St Milborough and its team of dedicated bell ringers who were featured on BBC Radio 4s “Bells on Sunday” programme on 23rd February 2025. This date was apt as it is also the feast day of St Milburga, the Abbess of Wenlock Priory who gave her name not only to St Milburga Church and the village of Stoke St Milborough but also to St Milburga Chapel, our lovely holiday cottage in the Shropshire Hills.

There are a total of 13 church bells in St Milburga Church including 8 that were cast in Italy and installed in the church tower in 2020. The bell ringers performed a piece entitled “Stoke St Milborough Surprise Major” which is available to listen to by heading to BBC Sounds, Radio 4 and searching for “Bells on Sunday” or you can click the following link: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002899s
